Large Fund Conversion
Challenge
This client is one of the largest global Fund Administrators offering an array of services including administrative, outsourced functions, and advisory with a range of hybrid structures and cross-asset securities including heavily on derivatives and private bank debt. The client had acquired a business where they aimed to replace the existing fund administrator for several of their clients. They, therefore, required a large data conversion from the former administrator onto their own books.
Strategy
Ievers Consulting assessed the end-to-end objective and worked in reverse to create a roadmap for each of the fund conversions, designing a template and project plan to support each milestone deliverable throughout the conversion. Ievers also leveraged other vendor tools for summary project plans and visual aids for client ease of use.
Solution
Ievers spent time dissecting the raw data files and conducting a mass data conversion for Advent Geneva compatibility, alongside mass trade and ART loader templates to import significantly large data sets. The results were that data was tested in shadow environments for consistency and accuracy before loading successful testing results into production. The project was sizeable enough to break up into multiple tranches to ensure a consistent approach and adherence to stringent deadlines.
